Karen Tyler

Associate Senior Pastor

I was appointed to Cedar Bayou Grace in July of 2014. Prior to this appointment, I served in a number of vocational ministry roles in various churches. I am currently enrolled in course of study classes at Perkins School of Theology at SMU. I have a passion for serving people who are marginalized and am on the board for My Body and Soul (a prayer and care ministry) and am the President of The Stove Project (an international humanitarian effort). Before answering the call to ministry, I was employed as a licensed pharmacist. I am a cum laude graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, and although I haven’t practiced in a number of years, I still retain my licensure. I was born and raised in Southeast Texas and have 5 children—Jessica and Michael (26-year-old twins), Kate (17), Emma (15) and William (14). I also have a one-year-old granddaughter named Aubree whom I adore.
